Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 14, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how the Background Remover Figma plugin ("the Service", "we", "us") collects, uses, and protects information when you use it. By using the Service, you agree to the practices described here.
1. Information We Collect
Image data. When you run a background removal, the selected image is transmitted to our processing backend solely to perform that operation. Images are processed transiently and are not used for any other purpose.
License key. If you subscribe, the license key issued to you is validated to unlock unlimited usage. The key and an associated activation identifier are stored locally in your Figma client and sent to our backend only to verify subscription status.
Minimal technical data. Standard request metadata (such as IP address) may be processed transiently for rate limiting and abuse prevention. We do not create user accounts and do not collect names, emails, or other personal profiles within the plugin.
2. How We Use Information
We use the information above only to (a) perform background removal, (b) validate your subscription/license, and (c) protect the Service from abuse. We do not sell your data or use your images to train models.
3. Third-Party Services
Payments & licensing. Subscriptions are processed by Creem, our Merchant of Record. Creem handles checkout, billing, and license issuance. We never receive or store your full payment card details. See Creem's privacy policy for how they process payment data.
Image processing. Background removal is performed via a cloud AI vision service, and images may be temporarily uploaded to cloud object storage to enable processing. These files are removed after the operation completes.
Hosting. Our backend is hosted on Vercel, which may process standard server logs.
4. Data Retention
Images are deleted immediately after processing and are not retained on our servers. License validation is performed on-demand and does not create a persistent profile.
5. Data Security
All data is transmitted over encrypted HTTPS connections. While no method of transmission is completely secure, we take reasonable measures to protect information handled by the Service.
6. Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights to access or delete data associated with you. Because we do not maintain user accounts, most data is transient; for any request, contact us at the email below.
7. Children's Privacy
The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above.
